Nikolaev Pushkin Club - ungovernmental self-controlled public organization created October 19, 1989 and working on territory of city of Nikolaev at the Nikolaev regional branch of the Ukrainian Fund of culture and Nikolaev Art museum by V. V. Vereschagina, its being founders. The work of Club is supported by the Nikolaev Regional state administration and Nikolaev urban executive committee.

The purpose of work of Club is the preservation, development and propagation of Russian culture on the best samples of world culture, creative heritage of the genius A. S. Pushkin and cultural of a Local Lore heritage.

Into tasks of Club enters: preservation, study and propagation Pushkin of a heritage connected to him of memorable places, history of the persons from his environment, connections with Ukraine; the increase of culture of perception of a Pushkin heritage, is especial among learning youth; assistance humanities of system of education and national education, education of love to native territory and city; assistance to revival of all national cultures.

For realization of object in views and tasks Club: conducts researches of life both creativity A. S. Pushkin and connection him with Nikolaev Region; will carry out literary - musical evenings, including with other national societies; promotes development of museum work on a basis of a Pushkin heritage and Pushkin Local Lore; carries out the edition of works of the members; cooperates with schools, institutes, libraries, museums with the purpose of improvement of teaching and propagation of the Russian classical literature; acts with the initiatives before local by the central bodies of authority on preservation of memorable places and monuments connected to a name Pushkin, his environment and other public figures of our territory.

Principles of activity. The club builds the work on principles voluntary, support of the general meeting and personal initiatives, works as an independent body of a public. The work of club is supervised by council elected annually on general meeting of club, on which the program of work of club on a forthcoming season (see last program on a season 1999-2000 affirms also.). The season, on tradition, opens by general meeting of club with a concert in September, and is closed by celebrating of birthday of the poet in June. The club during a season monthly, in 4th Sunday of each month will carry out literary - musical evenings, which as a rule include literary (at club the section of the readers - chief S. A. Semenova), musical and art (fine art from assembly of an Art museum works with V. V. Vereschagin) parts - during work the club has carried out about hundred such evenings. In mass media by the members of club is issued about 80-th of clauses about A. S. Pushkin, V. I. Dahl, their environment, about a history of Nikolaev and Nikolaev region.
